This study presents the development of research on tropical cyclones in Southeast Asia, one of the most landfalling tropical cyclone exposure regions in the world. By analysing 621 academic publications indexed in the Scopus database, the results show a rapid development of this topic from 2008 to the present. Scientifically developed countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom play an important role in this topic. On the other hand, countries that are directly exposed to tropical cyclones from the Western North Pacific also play a leading role in this topic, such as Vietnam, the Philippines, China, and Japan.
